Live performance arrangements:
Arrangements are created for performing ensembles. Mr. Palmieri has written for small and large groups, which range in nature from "big band" to a pops arrangement played by the Baltimore and San Antonio Symphony Orchestras. Computer generated published quality printed score and parts are provided. A demo midi production recorded to audio CD can also be supplied in order to display the arrangement's sound.
Arrangements/Recordings:
Recorded instrumental background midi/audio arrangements are crafted, either for your solo instrumental or vocal recording session, or as background tracks for live performances.
Mr. Palmieri has written and performed background arrangements for singers, string arrangements for rock band, a symphonic accompaniment of a patriotic song recorded with chorus, a project sponsored by the government of Norway, and has been commissioned to write original music and arrangements for innumerable performers.
How I use midi:
The K2500 keyboard and the Roland XV-5050 synthesizer module, which are top of the line production equipment, are fully loaded and augmented by thousands of the most realistic orchestral sounds as well as elaborate electronic ones. All the sounds are digitally sampled. Therefore, when the keyboard or module are made to sound like a violin, each note is a recording of a violinist. The instrumental sounds are so realistic that, when they are sequenced with the proper midi skills, it's impossible to tell the difference between the midi recording and one of a real orchestra.
The keyboard and module are hooked up to the computer. Musical arrangements can be devised on the computer using music notation. The computer also serves as a recording studio. Up to thirty two different instrumental patches can each be recorded separately and stored digitally onto multiple tracks. After parts are recorded, they are edited to assure accuracy and reality of orchestral sound. The rhythm, tempo, volume and stereo pan of all tracks are mixed for fullest most realistic blend with the most appropriate level of reverb. When listening to the final orchestration, the results can be astonishing.
The midi tracks are recorded to digital audio and burned to audio CD. The CD is sent to you. You make your own plans at a recording studio. The CD background track is played as the accompaniment while recording your solo. The CD can also be used to provide live background tracks.
Examples:
The following MP3 contains brief excerpts from my arrangements, demonstrating a variety of orchestrations and genre. The melody has been muted in each arrangement in order for the arrangement to be recorded as background for a soloist.
